What may appear in the Malawi cashier
Malawi is a mobile-money market. Airtel Money and TNM Mpamba are common local rails, while supported banks or vouchers may also appear. Availability is account-specific and can change, so this site does not publish stale USSD codes, fixed limits or processing promises.
| Method family | What to verify | Safety check |
|---|---|---|
| Airtel Money | Registered number, minimum/maximum, withdrawal support | Approve only the prompt you initiated |
| TNM Mpamba | Account-name match, limits, processing status | Never share the wallet PIN |
| Bank option | Bank name, reference, fee and settlement time | Use details shown inside the cashier |
| Voucher or retail | Validity, redemption rules and proof of purchase | Buy only from an authorized outlet |
Before approving a deposit
- Open the cashier from your signed-in account. Do not follow payment instructions from a search ad or chat message.
- Check amount, fee and recipient. Compare the phone prompt with the amount you entered.
- Keep the transaction reference. Save the time, amount and reference until the balance updates.
- Do not repeat immediately. If the balance is delayed, check transaction status before sending again.
Plan verification before you need a payout
Withdrawals may require identity, phone or payment-ownership checks. Use matching account details and complete legitimate verification early. The operator’s current terms control processing, limits and reversals.
A pending withdrawal is not a reason to pay a person who promises to “unlock” it. Escalate through the operator’s verified support, then MAGLA if the operator does not resolve a regulated complaint.
Do not rely on old tax summaries
Malawi’s betting-tax rules have changed in recent years. Because rates and withholding treatment can change, check the operator’s current statement and Malawi Revenue Authority material before making financial assumptions. This page does not provide tax advice.
What to record
